We did not copy ratings from review sites, and we do not call any place the best. We read every site on October 20, 2026. Where a place does not publish clear hours, we say check hours.

How we chose

• A Coral Gables address on the restaurant’s own site.
• A working official website that we could read, not a directory listing. Some well-known names are missing because their sites would not load, or no longer belong to the restaurant.
• Independent or locally rooted. We left out national and multi-state chains.

Where a card mentions an opening year, it is the restaurant’s own claim, not a fact we checked: Christy’s says 1978, Caffe Abbracci 1989, Havana Harry’s 1995, The Globe 1997 and Threefold Cafe 2014.

  Italian restaurant on Aragon Avenue, a block north of Miracle Mile. Its Our Story page says it has served Northern Italian cuisine 'since 1989' and was founded by the late Nino Pernetti (the restaurant's own claim).

  Breakfast and coffee cafe on Giralda Plaza. The site says founders Nick and Teresa, from Melbourne, opened their first cafe in Coral Gables in 2014 (the cafe's own claim).

Giralda Plaza and Giralda Avenue

The City says the 100 block of Giralda Avenue reopened in 2017 as Giralda Plaza, a pedestrian walkway with indoor and outdoor seating. See Miracle Mile and Giralda Plaza for the street itself.

• Eating House, 128 Giralda Ave, from chef Giorgio Rapicavoli: dinner Wednesday and Thursday 5:30 to 10 PM, Friday and Saturday 5:30 to 11 PM, Sunday 5:30 to 9 PM; brunch Saturday and Sunday 11 AM to 4 PM; happy hour Wednesday to Sunday 4 to 7 PM. Monday and Tuesday are not listed.

Alhambra Circle

• Cafe Demetrio, 300 Alhambra Circle: a coffee house. Monday to Saturday 9:00am to 3pm; closed Sunday. The cafe says its building stands on the 1920s premises of the city’s first newspaper.
• The Globe, 377 Alhambra Circle: a bistro and bar. Its hours sit behind a widget we could not read, so check hours before you go.
• Zitz Sum, 396 Alhambra Circle, Suite #155: a 30-seat restaurant in a historic building, by its own description. Tuesday to Thursday 6 pm to 9:30pm; Friday and Saturday 6 pm to 10pm; closed Sunday and Monday.

Ponce de Leon Boulevard and Merrick Park

• Christy’s Restaurant, 3101 Ponce De Leon Blvd, south of Miracle Mile: a steakhouse. Tuesday to Thursday 5:30pm to 9:00pm; Friday and Saturday 5:30pm to 9:30pm; closed Sunday and Monday.
• Sawa Restaurant, 360 San Lorenzo Ave #1500: Mediterranean. Its home page publishes only happy-hour times (Monday to Friday 4 PM to 7 PM, and at the bar 4 PM to 8 PM every day), not opening hours, so check hours.

The Shops at Merrick Park, at 358 San Lorenzo Ave, also has restaurants. The mall says individual store and restaurant hours may vary from its own Monday to Thursday 11AM to 8PM, Friday and Saturday 11AM to 9PM and Sunday 11AM to 7PM.

These two are in Coral Gables but not a walk from Miracle Mile:

• Havana Harry’s, 4612 South Le Jeune Rd: Cuban. Its home page shows two different schedules and a notice that it reopened in Coral Gables on October 19 at 11:00 AM, so check hours with the restaurant.
• Madruga Bakery, 1430 S Dixie Hwy STE 117: a bread bakery and cafe. Wednesday to Friday 8am to 3pm; Saturday and Sunday 8am to 2pm. Monday and Tuesday are not listed.

Near Matheson Hammock, Miami-Dade County lists Noma Beach at Red Fish in the park’s historic coral rock building, open Wednesday through Sunday. See parks and gardens.

We looked at more restaurants than we list. Several names on older lists lead to websites that no longer belong to the restaurant, so we could not confirm they are open, and we do not link them. Parking for dinner

City garages charge $1.00 per 24 minutes, with an $18.00 daily maximum. Garage 2 is at 220 Aragon Avenue, next door to Gables Cinema, and Lot 4 at 153 Aragon Ave. and Lot 25 at 104 Merrick Way are near Giralda Plaza. On-street meters are enforced 7 days a week from 9 a.m. to midnight, so dinner on the street is paid parking. Restaurants can validate in Garages 1, 2, 4 and 6; ask your server, since the restaurant buys the validation. More on parking.

Freebee runs free rides around downtown until 12 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights, and the free trolley runs until 10 p.m. Monday to Saturday. See getting around.

Food at events

Carnaval on the Mile, on Saturday and Sunday, March 6 and 7, 2027, includes food along with art and music, per the Kiwanis Club of Little Havana. The City’s Farmers Market in front of City Hall ran from Saturday, January 17 to March 28, 2026, 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM; the 2027 season had not been posted when we checked. • The Kiwanis Club of Little Havana's Carnaval on the Mile returns to Miracle Mile on "Saturday & Sunday, March 6-7" 2027, from 10 a.m., and "The entrance is FREE". • The City described its last farmers market season this way: "The Coral Gables Farmers Market, located in front of City Hall at 405 Biltmore Way, returns on Saturday, January 17, and will run until March 28, 2026."
