On-street parking: On-street meters in Coral Gables charge up to $3.50 an hour and are enforced every day from 9 a.m. to midnight. The City publishes the maximum only; the rate and time limit posted at each meter govern. Residents registered with the City get 25% off when paying with PayByPhone or ParkMobile. Distances in this picker run in a straight line between OpenStreetMap points, so the walk from a garage to Miracle Mile is a little longer. Rates quote the City of Coral Gables as read on 2026-10-20; the sign at the meter or garage has the last word.

City rates, exactly as published

WhereCity rateNotes
Municipal garages$1.00 per 24 minutes; $18.00 Maximum per day; $18.00 Lost Ticket per dayThe FAQ: “$1 for every 24 minutes or any part thereof.” The day runs from 12 a.m. to 11:59 p.m.
On-street meters$3.50 maximum hourly rateA maximum, not the rate at every meter. The posted rate and time limit govern.
City-owned lots$4.00 Maximum hourly rateAlso a maximum. Follow what is posted at each lot.
Meter enforcement7 days a week from 9 a.m. to MidnightNo free Sundays or evenings before midnight.

Because the City charges for every 24 minutes “or any part thereof,” a stay that runs a minute into a new block pays for the whole block. A long stay stops at the $18.00 daily maximum, and a lost ticket costs $18.00.

  • City Parking FAQs says permits are sold "at all four municipal garages" and validations cover "Garages 1, 2, 4 and 6", while the Parking Garages and Fees page also lists a fifth, the Minorca Garage at 254 Minorca Avenue. So this guide lists the garages by name rather than giving a count. City of Coral Gables: Parking FAQs

All are in Coral Gables, FL 33134. The City’s FAQ refers to “all four municipal garages” in one answer, while its fees page also lists the Minorca Garage, so we list all five and do not quote a count. The City says it is working to move all municipal garages to PayByPhone and ParkMobile; for now it names only the Minorca Garage. The City publishes no space counts, opening hours or maximum stays for any of its facilities.

  • Giralda Plaza: Lot 4 (about 60 meters), Lot 25 and Garage 6.
  • Coral Gables Museum: Lot 8 (about 90 meters), Garage 2 and Lot 3.
  • City Hall and the Farmers Market site: Lot 23 (about 110 meters), Garage 4 and Lot 3.
  • Coral Gables Art Cinema, 260 Aragon Avenue: the cinema says Garage 2 is “immediately next door” and that patrons get a discount when they validate parking in its lobby.
  • Gables Cinema (the Coral Gables Art Cinema) is at 260 Aragon Avenue, Coral Gables, FL 33134. It says "There is a covered garage with ample parking immediately next door" (Municipal Garage 2, 220 Aragon Ave) and that patrons "receive a discount when they validate their parking in our lobby." City lots open to visitors

These are the lots the City lists as “Transient Only” or “Transient & Permit”. All charge up to $4.00 an hour, with the posted rate governing, and all take PayByPhone or ParkMobile.

Lots 31, 41 and 12 & 16 are south of downtown on the Ponce de Leon Boulevard side, near the Shops at Merrick Park, not on Miracle Mile. The City’s other numbered lots are permit only, and Lot 43 is listed as closed for renovation, so do not use them without a permit.

Paying: PayByPhone and ParkMobile

The City says “PayByPhone and ParkMobile are available for on-street, parking lot and Minorca garage parking payments.” Garages 1, 2, 4 and 6 work with a ticket and a pay station. The City pages we read give no zone numbers; use the number posted at the space or lot.

Coral Gables residents can register with the City’s Parking and Mobility Services Department for a 25% discount when paying with PayByPhone or ParkMobile, at app-enabled locations only. Documents go in each year by email to parking@coralgables.com (City resident rate program).

Validations, permits and accessible parking

  • Validation: shops and restaurants buy validation tickets from the City for Garages 1, 2, 4 and 6. Each is worth up to $4.00 off, and the City says the benefit is for shoppers only. Ask the business; visitors cannot buy them from the City.
  • Residential permit zones: a Residential Parking Permit costs $20.00 per vehicle per year. Each participating household can buy four visitor hanglets, and more cost $5.00 each per day. Without a hanglet, do not park in a posted residential zone.
  • Monthly permits (for workers and residents, not visitors): Garages 1 and 2 and their group of lots are $123.05 for one month or $369.15 a quarter; Garages 4, 6 and Minorca and their group are $112.35 a month or $337.05 a quarter, per the City.
  • Disabled parking permits: in a City garage the permit holder must be in the vehicle and be ready to show the permit and ID when exiting. The City does not say the permit means free parking, and private facilities may still charge.
  • City Parking FAQs: a Residential Parking Permit costs "$20.00 per vehicle per year"; four visitor hanglets are sold per participating household, with extra hanglets "$5.00 each per day." City of Coral Gables: Parking FAQs

City or private?

The City’s FAQ warns: “Not all parking facilities in Coral Gables are operated by the city.” City lots carry City signs at the entrance and inside. “Private parking lots and garages establish their own rates and policies,” so the City rates on this page do not apply there. We leave private garages out because their prices change.
